Specialists of the Center at the conference «Heart of the Megapolis-2024»

On September 13-14, 2024, Moscow hosted the II scientific and practical conference «Heart of the Megapolis-2024», which brought together more than 700 specialists in the field of cardiovascular surgery. Among the participants were the leading cardiac surgeons of our Center, who made presentations on key issues of modern cardiac surgery.

Dmitry V. Shmatov, Deputy Director of the Medical Department of Cardiac Surgery, presented a report on the topic «A modern view of surgical treatment of patients with ischemic mitral insufficiency». In his speech, he highlighted the controversial and unresolved issues of the tactics of surgical treatment of this pathology.

Ruslan Y. Kappushev, a cardiovascular surgeon, shared his experience of using a modified ultrasound technique for lung examination of cardiac surgery patients in the perioperative period of open heart surgery.

Alexey V. Vasiliev made presentations on the topics «Venous stents are also thrombosed» and «Endovascular obstruction in DVT today: optimal indications and methods», which aroused great interest among colleagues.

All the presented reports provoked active discussions among the conference participants, especially those related to modern methods and technologies in cardiac surgery, including minimally invasive and hybrid interventions. Participation in the conference allowed our doctors to share their experience with leading Russian and foreign specialists and discuss new prospects in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
